Terms & Conditions
Chitti is a student hackathon project, not a commercial product. These terms describe what it is, who provides it, and the basis it's offered on — in plain language, with nothing invented.
Who provides Chitti
Chitti is built and maintained by Owl Coders, a student team (lead developer: Nandi Vardhan), created for the iQOO Hackathon 2026 in Hyderabad, India. Owl Coders is a project team, not a registered company; there is no separate legal entity, office address, or commercial registration behind it. Contact: chittibot7@gmail.com. Source: github.com/NandiVardhan2007/chitti.
Provided "as-is"
Chitti is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. It is experimental software from a hackathon; it may contain bugs, may change, and may be discontinued. To the extent permitted by law, the team is not liable for any loss arising from use of the app or this site.
Licence
The repository does not currently publish a formal software licence. Absent a licence, default copyright applies to the source; please check the repository for any licence added later before reusing the code.
Your account and data
If you sign in or make an encrypted backup, the handling of that data is described on the Privacy page. In short: the app is designed to keep data on your phone, and an optional backup is end-to-end encrypted before it leaves the device. If you forget your backup password, the backup cannot be recovered. You can clear your data from Settings, or delete your account (which removes the account record and its backup together).
Acceptable use
Use Chitti lawfully and on devices you control. Don't use it to break the law, infringe others' rights, or interfere with the app's or the backend's operation. Grant the app only the Android permissions you're comfortable with — each one and its purpose is listed in the Docs.
Third-party services
Chitti uses Firebase Authentication for sign-in, Google Safe Browsing to check links, and (on this website) Google Fonts to load the Inter typeface. These are operated by their respective providers under their own terms and privacy policies. The website itself uses no analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts.
Data protection
Chitti is developed in India, where the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 applies to personal data. The app is built to minimise the personal data that leaves the device (see Privacy for exactly what the backend can see). This note is a plain-language description, not a legal compliance certification or legal advice; for questions about your rights, consult a qualified professional. Data or privacy requests can be sent to chittibot7@gmail.com.
Changes & contact
These terms may be updated as the project evolves; the current version always lives here. Questions go to chittibot7@gmail.com.
